AN OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR MICHAEL LEAVITT

Dear Governor Leavitt,

You may recall that I wrote you, September 11 of 1998, warning you that, according to God’s word to Wilford Woodruff on January 26, 1880, you must be “destroyed” by God for hindering Utah citizens in the free exercise of their religion, by personally upholding state law against celestial or plural marriage (polygamy) and by advocating that county prosecutors prosecute. Perhaps if the world had enough time you might live a long and prosperous life replete with the fame and fortune you desire, as the Lord sends the rains upon both the righteous and wicked, yet you will be destroyed in the flesh and your name will be a curse and you will not abide forever in the house of the Lord, because you refuse to repent.

I must confess that I have observed, with some pleasure, the steady erosion of your fame and credibility ever since the July 1998 “clarification” of your KUED press conference. You spoke against the word of God by stating that plural marriage (polygamy) should forever remain against the law and that those who practice it should be prosecuted. What can Hinckley’s church hide behind, if not state law and the governor? Hinckley took you to the woodshed, then later excused you on the Larry King show… “He’s young.”

Doing Hinckley’s bidding has gotten you where you are today. Hinckley gave you a mandate to get the Olympics and also to push for more gun control (banning carry permit holders from carrying in churches). Hinckley didn’t have to stand and face the jeers, boos and wrath of the Republican party and be forced into a primary, you did! In June of 1998, you were on top of the world, heading up the Governor’s conference, dreaming of running with Bush as Vice President, hosting the Olympics, then what: maybe president? You were in a “pretty great state” of mind and you were wallowing in the “goodness of the people”.

Look at you now! Hinckley is not going to help you, he did not have to testify in the Mark Hoffman bombing murders (the state saw to that) and it is not Hinckley who is planning to commit perjury in federal court, it is you who will be leaving your once faithful servants, Welch and Johnson (Olympic bid committee workers) to twist in the wind (just like Hinckley is doing to you) and face prosecution for bribery.

Are you too detached to figure out why your party faithful hate you and sent you to a primary which sent you about the state, kissing babies and feet? You think the voters are as stupid as your brother Dave, and maybe they are. Mike Leavitt has put Mike Leavitt above everything, even God and the Constitution, and you think no one notices.

1. Whirling Disease: which is better, that all the trout in Utah are diseased, or that the house of Leavitt has to kill some diseased fish in their hatchery and face a little financial loss?

2. Questar Gas: which is better, that Utah’s natural gas consumers are at the whim of Questar, and that Dixie Leavitt’s boys thereby make a fat profit on their Questar gas stock, or that Mike Leavitt veto bad legislation that hurts Utahns and helps him.

3. Olympic Scandal: which is better, to commit perjury in court and let Johnson and Welch be made ‘scapegoats’, or that Mike Leavitt tell the truth that everyone involved knew that no Olympics were to be obtained without substantial bribery and criminal pandering.

4. Gun Control: which is better, that Mike Leavitt curry favor with Gordy Hinckley and the media and press by banning people with carry permits and guns from churches and thereby further eroding our freedoms and God-given rights and further shredding our Constitution and endangering the lives of church goers, or that Leavitt stand against the New World Order pressure attempting to disarm U.S. citizens.

Leavitt, the Republican party booed you because you are perceived to be a shallow, hypocritical, self-serving liar and liberal who puts his personal interest above everything and who is willing to split his own party in half, let the pieces fall where they may.

Your intellectually-challenged brother Dave has decided to do your bidding and prosecute one Tom Green (a ‘polygamist’) of Juab County because the Dateline T.V. show made little brother Dave look like a complete imbecile; this they did by letting him speak. Little Davey wants to be somebody too, so, of the thousands of ‘polygs’ in Juab County, little Dave has selected Tom Green to go to jail. Tom must go to jail, not because any of his wives complained, but because Davey’s 15 minutes of fame went badly and he wants to re-live it. Little brother Dave fixed the stainless steel and stone sign outside his office misspelling “Safety” (seen as Juab Department of Public “Saftey” on national T.V.) and by now he has probably coached his Sheriff on the proper pronunciation of the word fornication (rendered “fornification” on T.V.). Once you look stupid on national T.V., it’s hard to re-live and change the moment.

Tom Green has to go to jail, and his family and his wives have to suffer so that little Dave can be famous too. Davey is pretending that he must prosecute because Mr. Green confessed to his “crime” on national T.V.; if Davey knows of a crime, he must prosecute (he claims). So Tom Green’s crime is that he exercised free speech and spoke of his lifestyle. If Tom were one of Juab’s “gay” cowboys and registered in the Utah “gay rodeo” recently held at the fair grounds, would little Dave prosecute? Is Dave going to obtain a registry of the “gay” rodeo and match it with Juab residents and go to the house of the “gay” cowboy and pester him for a year about prosecuting him and lie to the said cowboy about his motivations? (“We could overturn these bad laws against faggotry, won’t you be my test case, please?”) Maybe little Dave could go to the hospitals and check to see which girls or women gave birth out of wedlock and arrest them for “fornificating” without a license! Dave will do none of this because Dave cares no more about the law or equity or justice than you, Mike, care about my natural gas bill! Dave must punish Tom Green because Dave made himself look like a fool on national T.V. and also because Tom Green is the perfect springboard to propel little Dave into fame and fortune and political power (he thinks).

Mike, when that slippery old ‘polyg’, Bill Clinton, stood mockingly in Arizona pointing over to the land he summarily (and with no advance warning to you) stole from Utah (Grand Staircase; Escalante), do you suppose there was a reason he didn’t set foot in Utah? Do you suppose he was afraid of being arrested for bigamy or polygamy or fornication or sodomy or object rape if he set foot in your “pretty great state”?

Finally, Mike, I am intending this letter to become a flyer to hand out on any and every given Sunday outside Temple Square. While I am enjoying watching the punishment you are bringing upon yourself and which the Almighty is bringing to bear upon Utah (tornadoes, drought, fires, floods, etc.) it is just not enough or fast enough for me; because you let loose your idiotic brother on Tom Green’s family for exercising their freedom of speech, I intend to use free speech to punish you and your self-serving, lying, little brother.

I intend on carrying the following sign on my weekly vigil at Temple Square until Tom Green is acquitted; or until neither of Dixie Leavitt’s lying, self-serving sons are swilling at the public trough; or until the setting-in-order comes; whichever comes first.

While I personally intend you and little Dave no harm, I pray that the Lord God Almighty, Jehovah, destroy and damn you and your pathetic brother.
